Well my new G5 arrived on Monday. I have now been using it for 5 days and the difference is amazing. Going from a G3 466MHz to a G5 1.8GHz is like going from a peddle go-kart to a porsche.

Its nothing short of a pleasure to use at the moment, no frustrating moments waiting for applications to work etc….

It came pre-installed with the new iLife’05 so I was very pleased, all my photos (just over 1800) were all there. The new ipod shuffles worked a dream too and the sound is amazing for such a small device. The isight I ordered is something I haven’t really used yet. I plan to test it out next week.

The rest of the stuff I ordered the day after. A HP 2355 printer was so easy to setup I could hardly believe it. The media reader is cute and you can hardly notice it so suits me fine. For sound I ordered the Harman Kardon Soundsticks II 2.1 speakers which I was literally blow away with, the base is just amazing. I also got the JBL Duet 2.0 speakers to put into the airport express in the kitchen. The airport express connects to the base station and the aircard in the G5.

You can imagine the fun I had setting it all up, and it only took me about 2 days! When I get my arse in gear I will post images to my flichr account
